Enel Romania manager kills himself by jumping off the company’s HQ building
Italian Matteo Cassani, the general manager of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, two of the largest electricity supply companies in Romania, which are part of Italian group Enel, threw himself off the company’s headquarters in Bucharest, according to Mediafax newswire.
This happened on Thursday, November 27, around noon, on Ion Mihalache Boulevard in Bucharest (close to Piata Victoriei), where Enel's local headquarters are located.
An emergency crew which was passing by at that time stopped to help him, but could not do anything to save him.
Matteo Cassani, 42, was general manager of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia. He has been working in Romania for the last ten years, during which he occupied various management positions in the group’s companies.
“We inform you that today a tragedy happened, in which our colleague Matteo Cassani, the general manager of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, lost his life. We don’t know the circumstances of this accident. Romanian authorities have started an investigation,” reads an official statement of Enel Romania, quoted by Mediafax.
