Romania’s Energy Authority ANRE has fined the gas supplier GDF Suez Energy Romania with about EUR 45,000, after it discovered that the company was sending consumers three bills at once, including two that estimated the consumption in advance for the next months. ANRE has demanded the supplier to end this practice.

Customers had submitted complaints at ANRE about GDF Suez Energy Romania. The company had implemented for a part of its clients a project which was based on sending three bills at once. The project, however, hadn’t been previously approved by ANRE.

GDF Suez Romania has already paid the fine, according to ANRE, and would also stop sending three invoices simultaneously.

The company, which is part of the French group GDF Suez, has 1.4 million customers in Romania, and had a turnover of over EUR 1 billion in 2014.
