BCR, the Romanian subsidiary of Austrian financial group Erste, officially launched the George digital banking platform on the Romanian market on Thursday, October 25.

The platform, which was designed in Vienna with the contribution of young Romanian IT specialists, already has over 3 million users in Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Romania is the fourth market where Erste unrolls its platform, which was redeveloped by BCR’s digital team and adapted to the local market.

In Romania, George also comes with a current account and dedicated card, which is a unique feature in Erste Group. The card can be ordered exclusively online in less than 10 minutes.

The platform, which has many social media features and can be customized according to users’ needs and preferences, aims to draw young Romanians between 18 and 35 with above-average revenues.
