New coffee shop franchise enters Romanian market
Esquires Coffee, an international coffee shop franchise from New Zealand, opened its first unit in Bucharest, in Veranda Mall.
This is the first of a planned network of 25 units the company plans to open in Romania in the next five years.
Cooks Global Foods, a company from New Zealand, owns the Esquires Coffee brand, which operates on 12 international markets. In Romania, the franchise will be developed by a local partner supported by the group’s management in Ireland, which is responsible for the business development in Europe.
The branded coffee shop chain in Romania recorded a 30% business growth in 2017. The main international players on this market include Starbucks, Gloria Jeans and McCafe.
