EU Commissioner: Romania has great potential in the digital sector
Romania has a great potential in the digital sector, which it should exploit together with the other members of the European Union to create added value, said Gunther Oettinger, European Commissioner for economy and the digital society.
Romania needs to create, together with the governments of other EU countries, a single market in this area, according to Oettinger, reports local Economica.net. He argued that all important economic areas are digitalized, including mass media, cinema, banking sector or industrial production.
“90% of the products and services are going through a change,” he explained.
Online piracy can’t be effectively fought with 28 EU laws, Oettinger added.
The European Commissioner visited Romania at the end of last week. He took part at the conference “Digitalisation - The future of Europe” organized by Romania’s Communications Ministry.
