The EU funds Romania got between 2007 and 2015 have helped create 41,000 jobs and supported some 5,000 local companies, according to the European Funds Ministry.

Some 400 medical and education units have also been developed with EU funds, according to the European Funds Minister Aura Raducu.

She met with representatives of the European Commission yesterday to analyze the progress Romania made in using EU funds in 2015.

Romania has used only about 75% of the EU funds allotted to it in the 2007-2013 budgeting period. The money that Romania hasn’t managed to spend by December 31, 2015 was lost.
