EUR 68 mln worth of projects in Romania – Hungary cross border cooperation project
A Romania – Hungary cross border cooperation program aims at financing EUR 68 million worth of projects, according to Romania's Tourism and Regional Development Ministry.
Around half of the projects are focusing on building or rebuilding roads and bike lanes crossing the border, the protection of joint natural beauties and the management of water and waste. The rest of the projects aim to strengthen cooperation in areas like business infrastructure, tourism, research and health.
The Romania – Hungary cross border cooperation program, which started in 2007, includes almost 400 projects so far, with EUR 150 million EU funding. The two countries already agreed on the program and priorities for the next similar program, from 2014 to 2020.
