EuroGsm expects EUR 22 mln turnover this year, fuelled by smartphone and accesory sales

14 June 2012

EuroGsm, Orange Romania's largest retailer on business-to-customer services, hopes to reach a turnover of EUR 22 million this year, up 10 percent on 2011, mainly due to strong sales of smartphones and accessories.

“We estimate an increase by over 10 percent in phone sales and an advance of sales on accessories, where we intend to channel marketing efforts in the near future”, said Zoltan Halmi, commercial director at EuroGsm (in picture).

He also said that accessories are the best sold products for by EuroGsm, followed by mobile phones, while tablets have a lower share in the company's sales.

“Certainly the number of tablets sold this year will increase, but their share in the company’s sales volume will be maintained at a level far lower than phones. The massive entry of smartphones and tablets on the market will also trigger their price decrease,” Halmi said.

The company hopes to reach a 34 percent market share among Orange's voice service business to consumer retailers in Romania.

EuroGsm has 117 shops under franchise and has been active in Romania for the last 15 years.
