Exports from Romania fall 6.8% month-on-month in June
Romania's Free-On-Board (FOB) exports totaled EUR 3.7 billion (RON 16.6 billion) in June 2012, a figure that shows a decrease of 6.8 percent with values expressed in EUR (6.0 percent in RON values) compared to May 2012, according to preliminary estimates of the National Institute of Statistics, published today ( August 9 ).
Cost-Insurance & Freight (CIF) imports totaled EUR 4.6 billion (RON 20.7 billion), down to 7.0 percent with values expressed in EUR (6.2 at values expressed in RON), compared with the previous month.
Compared to June last year, exports increased by 1.2 percent and imports decreased by 0.4 percent.
FOB-CIF trade deficit in June 2012 was EUR 933.4 million (RON 4.16 billion), up by EUR 26.0 million (RON 372.6 million) compared with June 2011.
