Ezio Salvai is the new Chief Executive Officer of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Romania starting July 2011, the bank has announced. He will be responsible for coordinating all activities and strategy of the bank. Salvai replaces Nicola Calabro, who has been leading the Romanian subsidiary for the last four years.

Ezio Salvai has previously been President of the Management Board in Banka Koper (Slovenia), a position that he held for the last 3 years. He started to work in the banking industry in 1972 with Istituto Bancario Sanpaolo from Torino and was engaged in various executive positions, both with the Italian market as well as foreign experiences.

Salvai was head of the Central and Eastern Europe Banks department of the newly founded Intesa Sanpaolo Group at that time. He had also a 5-year mandate as CEO and member of the Board with Inter Europa Bank (Hungary).

The new structure of the Board of Directors of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank includes Giovanni Ravasio – President; Ezio Salvai – member; Daniele Bordina – member; Riccardo Gianluca Poli – member; Giampiero Trevisan – member; Ioan Mihail Anca – member; Adriana Saitta – member.
