Romanian insolvency lawyer Remus Borza, who is currently the legal administrator of state-owned power producer Hidroelectrica, will be named president of the Polisano health group, which was founded and developed by Romanian entrepreneur Ilie Vonica. The agreement between Borza and Polisano was recently signed, according to Mediafax.
The healthcare business is valued at some EUR 160 million and includes the third largest pharmaceutical distributor in Romania, a drug factory, two private hospitals and five health clinics and a network of 80 drug stores.
The consolidated business of the Polisano group is more than EUR 350 million per year, which makes it the largest private business in Romania’s health sector. Ilie Vonica committed suicide two months ago after his wife was arrested in a case involving fake prescriptions.
