Famous Romanian journalist says he was an undercover officer
Romanian journalist Robert Turcescu recently admitted to having been an undercover officer, and gave up on moderating his show “Romanian Topical” at B1TV. He posted documents certifying his undercover officer position, and said it was ‘the will of God” that he came clean about his past.
His service record posted online confirms Turcescu was advanced to lieutenant colonel in 2010. The trigger to reveal his secret was the ongoing discussion about the presidential candidates, who have been asked by president Traian Basescu to say whether they have been undercover officers.
Turcescu asked anybody else with such secrets to also come forward, and ‘free themselves of the secret”. Some local media still consider this a joke, as journalists found irregularities on the documents posted online. Turcescu however said on video that everything is real.
Robert Turcescu is a journalist, TV host, media critic, radio personality, as well as a singer - songwriter.
