Fire at hotel in Bucharest, one employee taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke
A small fire started on Thursday evening, September 4, at Phoenicia Hotel in Bucharest, 70 tourists being evacuated. According to Daniel Vasile, spokesman of the Bucharest Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), the fire located at the level of the roof was a small one, the main problem being the smoke that entered the building, reports local Mediafax.
A hotel employee who tried to evacuate the tourists needed medical care due to exposure to smoke. He was transported to a hospital, where he is recovering, according to Vasile.
