First “cross dock” warehouse built near Bucharest
AIC Industrial & Logistic Development, a real estate developer of industrial and logistics spaces, began in September the construction of a class A warehouse, with a surface of 21,000 sqm, within the Bucharest Industrial Park, for the logistics firm Delamode.
The investor in the project is Belgian company Vabeld. The project includes the first “cross dock” warehouse specially built for Delamode.
Cross-docking allows unloading freight from a truck and load it directly into another truck without storing it. The warehouse is located at the kilometer 13 of the Bucharest-Pitesti highway.
The work will be completed by mid-March 2017. The space will be used to store and handle general cargo.
The project will consist of two buildings, one with a total surface of 18,000 sqm, and one with a surface of over 3,400 sqm. The second building was made “built-to-suit” for Delamode.
