First Marks & Spencer Food shop opens in Romania
The first Marks & Spencer Food shop in Romania will open on May 14, in Bucharest’s newest shopping center Mega Mall.
The shop will be part of the Marks & Spencer store. It will sell sweets, tea, wines, pasta and sauces, the mall’s representatives have announced.
Marks & Spencer has been present in Romania since 2000, and by end-2015 it will have six stores in Romania, four of which in Bucharest, one in Constanta, and one in Iasi.
Mega Mall will also have the first Sport Vision and BUZZ sportswear shops in Romania.
Mega Mall is set to open on May 14. It will host some of the biggest stores in Romania for fashion retailers such as H&M, Zara, Koton, Mango, Marks & Spencer, New Yorker, C&A, LC Waikiki, Reserved, and others.
Peek & Clopenburg has leased 5,000 sqm in Mega Mall for the biggest fashion store in Romania, with more than 170 brands.
The mall will also include a Carrefour hypermarket, an entertainment area with a Cinema City multiplex, a World Class fitness center and a special place for kids.
Mega Mall will cover some 230,000 sqm and will have a leasable space of 72,000 sqm, which makes it one of the largest malls in Bucharest. It is located near the National Arena, Romania’s largest football stadium.
The total investment in the mall was some EUR 165 million. South-African investment fund NEPI holds the majority stake in the project. The minority shareholder is Austrian group Real4You.
