Romania’s National Company for Road Infrastructure CNAIR sent last week the attribution documents to build sections 1 and 5 of the future Sibiu-Pitesti highway to the National Agency for Public Procurement.

Their construction is estimated at RON 2.6 billion (EUR 568 million).

The contract for the first section, connecting Selimbar to the Sibiu bypass, is expected to last 9 years. Design will require a year, construction will take 3 years, continued by a 5-year guarantee stage.

The fifth section will connect Curtea de Arges to the Pitesti bypass. It will take 1 year to design, around 2 years to build, followed by the 5-year guarantee stage.
