The five-star City Plaza hotel in Cluj-Napoca recently launched the first cogeneration plant in the hotel industry in Romania that simultaneously produces electricity and heat, following an investment of EUR 200,000.

"We inaugurated on Wednesday in a national premiere the natural gas cogeneration plant in Esco system at the City Plaza Hotel, which simultaneously produces heat and electricity, the first of its kind in the hospitality industry in Romania," said Cosmin Sindean, the hotel manager, cited by locall Mediafax.

"The investment in the new plant was of EUR 200,000 and improves energy efficiency while reducing gas and electricity consumption. The plant enables savings of heat and electricity by about 20%."
