The AC market could reach EUR 15 million in 2012, an increase of 14 percent on the previous year in value, while the market will only increase by 7 percent in volume, according to IT and electronics retailer Flanco.

The growth will be fueled by the increase in new apartments, as well as changes in the profile of buyers.

Over half the AC sales a year are registered in June and July, as the purchase of AC devices is still perceived as seasonal and necessity – based, said Catalin Marin, director product manager with Flanco.

Flanco saw its AC sales triple in the last two weeks compared to the period before. The best sold products are the 12,000 BTU ACs, with prices between RON 1,200 and RON 1,400.
