Food retailer Profi, which is owned by the investment fund Enterprise Investors, has reached 350 supermarkets in Romania, after opening three new stores in Beclean, Bacau, and Oradea.

Profi is present in all the counties, having almost 8,000 employees. It wants to reach a network of 500 stores next year.

The company plans to reach 100 new units launched this year and targets opening another 100 units next year.

Last year, Profi had a turnover of EUR 415 million, up by 26.6% compared to 2013, and a net profit of EUR 6.1 million, up by 1.7%. The company ranks ninth in the local retail market, based on its turnover.
