Foreign direct investment in Romania exceeds EUR 2.3 bln in seven months
Foreign direct investment in Romania reached EUR 2.34 billion in the first seven months of this year, up 18.6% over the same period last year.
The equity investments, including the net reinvested profit, totaled EUR 2.06 billion whereas the intra-group loans amounted to EUR 279 million, according to data presented by Romania’s National Bank (BNR).
The foreign direct investment reached the highest monthly value in May, totaling EUR 555.6 million. The second highest value was recorded in March, with EUR 534.6 million. In July, direct investment amounted to EUR 302 million.
By comparison, the foreign direct investment reached EUR 1.97 billion between January and July 2015.
