Foreign direct investments in Romania, up by 60%
The value of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Romania reached EUR 2 billion in the first seven months of the year, up by 60% year-on-year, said Alexandru Nastase, state secretary in the Department for Foreign Investments and Public-Private Partnership.
The equity stakes amounted to EUR 1.2 billion in this period, whereas the intra-group loans totaled EUR 856 million, according to the Romania’s National Bank.
“The business environment is friendly in Romania. We are the third energy independent country in the European Union and we’ve kept the lowest taxes in the region,” Nastase said, cited by local Capital.ro.
