Foreign fanfares, multi-cultural shows in Bucharest parks for Europe Day
Four foreign brass bands will perform in several Bucharest parks and pedestrian areas on Europe Day. In total, 130 musicians, including from a Romanian fanfare, will celebrate the day in the Unirii, Cismigiu and Herastrau parks, as well as at the Universitate Square near the statues. The shows will take place on Saturday, May 9, starting 13:30.
The Hungarian fanfare The Hussards, The Pipe and Drums from Scotland, the French The Napoleonic Historical Band and the Italian Bersaglieri Military Band will take turn performing in all the four locations.
The event will also bring together representatives from 22 countries, alongside officials from the European Parliament and the European Commission missions to Romania. The member states attending the event will present their customs, activities, traditional shows, as well as their tourism offers.
Besides fanfare shows, dance and music shows from Ireland, Finland, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Poland will take place in the Cismigiu park, at the member states square, starting 11:30 on May 9.
