Foreign Investors Council in Romania appoints Steven Van Groningen president

Steven van Groningen (in picture), the CEO of Raiffeisen Bank in Romania has been recently elected president of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) in the country. He will replace Mariana Gheorghe, the OMV Petrom CEO, who has been head of the board of directors for FIC in Romania for the last year. Gheorghe will continue to be a member of the board with FIC.

Frank Hajdinjak, CEO, E.ON Energie România and Șerban Toader, Senior Partner, KPMG România are are the new vice-president of the organization.This is Toader's second mandate as vice-president. Last year, he held this position together with Steven Van Groningen. Daniel Anghel, Tax Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers România is the new head of treasury for FIC. Their mandate will last until May 2012.

The FIC members plan to invest over EUR 2 billion in 2011 and their investment plans exceed EUR 10 billion for the next five years.

The FIC represents 128 companies in Romania, whose cumulated investments account for over two thirds of the foreign investments in the country. The cumulated turnover of these companies exceeds EUR 36 billion.
