Romania’s Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu appointed former Antena 3 news anchor Alina Petrescu as state councilor and his cabinet’s new spokeswoman.

“I wish that transparency and real time communication become two essential attributes of my cabinet,” Grindeanu said.

“I trust that Alina will know how to explain the Government’s decisions and make the activity of the governing team understood.”

Alina Petrescu has worked as a journalist for 15 years. She started her career at TVR International and then worked for about two years at EuroNews before joining Antena 3, where she has worked for over 10 years.

Antena 3, one of the top 5 television channels in Romania in terms of audience, has been one of the main media supporters of the new PSD-ALDE Government.
