Hungarian real estate developer Futureal Group plans to start new residential projects in Romania. The group has recruited Mauricio Mesa Gomez, the former general manager of Spanish group Hercesa’s operations in Romania and Bulgaria, to manage its local subsidiary Cordia Romania.

At Hercesa, he coordinated the development of several residential projects in Bucharest, as well as the revamping and relaunch of Hotel Cismigiu, located in a historical building in downtown Bucharest.

Cordia Romania has developed the Parcul Privighetorilor residential project in Bucharest, a EUR 20 million investment, and plans to start new residential projects in Romania. Futureal Group has also developed Gold Plaza shopping mall in Baia Mare, a EUR 97 million projects, in partnership with Austrian Immofinanz.

Futureal was founded by Hungarian investor Gabor Futo, and has developed EUR 900 million worth of projects in Central and Eastern Europe. The group has EUR 1.6 billion projects in the pipeline.
