Former investment fund head and CEO of Romanian real estate firm sings at the Voice of Romania
The former head of investment fund Europolis' Romanian office, Stefan Gheorghiu, currently the CEO of Romanian developer Impact attended the Romanian version of The Voice TV show and was selected to take part in the competition. His voice impressed Romanian singer Loredana Groza, who chose him and who will be his mentor during the show.
Stefan Gheorghiu was recently appointed CEO of Impact, a company listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, and is tasked with turning the company around. Impact's losses added up to some EUR 10.5 million in the last two years while its sales nose dived.
The 39-year old competitor at the Voice started singing two years ago and impressed at the competition auditions by singing 'What a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong.
Stefan Gheorghiu led the Romanian office of Europolis for a year and a half between 2006 and 2007. Europolis was bought by another investment fund, CA Immo, in 2010. Europolis owns Europe House- the Orange Romanian headquarters in Victoriei Square and Sema Parc office buildings in Bucharest, as well as logistics parks in Bucharest and Arad.
After Europolis, Gheorghiu went on to lead the Romanian subsidiary of another real estate fund, Polimeni. He set up the company in Romania, which invested EUR 300 million, but pulled out of Romania after being hit by the recession in the US.
Gheorghiu also worked with Willbrook Management International, the developer of Cathedral Plaza office building in Bucharest, for almost two years. Since 2007, he has owned his own consultancy company, Tegron Consulting.
In the following months, the real estate manager, who holds a BA in chemical engineering, will be in bootcamp preparing for the show The Voice of Romania.
