Former Rompetrol director creates new network of gas stations in Romania
Oil product distributor Rottco, which is controlled by Paul Pop, a former director in Rompetrol and Lukoil, plans to create a new fuel distribution network in Romania.
This will be formed based on an affiliation system of independent gas stations.
The company aims to convince at least 50 independent fuel stations to join its network. There are currently some 600 independent gas stations in Romania, which are not owned or affiliated to any of the big fuel distribution companies. The project will be called Rottco Synergy.
“It will connect the independent gas stations in a coordinated network,” reads a press release.
Paul Pop was Lukoil director between 1998 and 2000, and sales director, managing director and board president of Rompetrol Downstream between 2001 and 2006. He later founded his own company Rottco in 2007. Last year, the firm had a turnover of EUR 100.4 million.
