Founder of Romanian communication agency gets jail time for influence trading
Romanian businessman Bogdan Nicola, one of the founders of The Group communication agency, was recently sentenced to two years and six months in prison by the Bucharest Court for influence trading. The decision is not final, reports Paginademedia.ro. The court also decided to keep Nicola under judicial control.
The National Anticorruption Directorate DNA last summer sent Nicola and five other people to trial. Nicola was indicted for allegedly having paid EUR 10,000 to obtain an Urban Area Plan necessary for the construction of a building, according to Paginademedia.ro.
Bogdan Nicola and his sister Mihaela Nicola funded The Group, a full service marketing communication group of companies, together with Zoltan Szigeti.
