Free guided walking tours of Bucharest, Romania, running again this summer
The third edition of the project “Cu bastonul prin Bucuresti” (With the stick in Bucharest) will invite people to discover the Romanian Capital step by step. Organized by the Romanian Association for Culture and Education - ARCEN - the event will be held every weekend, from July 28 to September 9, in Piata George Enescu, starting in front of Athenaeum from 11.00 on Saturdays and 18:00 on Sundays.
This year, the ARCEN volunteers guides will talk about how Bucharest's citizens got through the crisis in 1929, as well as how the people of the time spent their summer: the places frequented, what they ate, what songs they sang and how they escaped the unbearable heat. The guides will again share stories of love, intrigue and Bucharest jokes circulated from one end to the other of Calea Victoriei.
The free guided tour will last for two hours and the guides will talk in Romanian, English and French.
