French Police arrests 35 Romanians in copper theft investigation
The French Police has arrested 35 Romanians who have allegedly stolen copper in Montpellier and Lattes, according to French media. 400 gendarmes and policemen went into five Rroma camps in the two cities, part of an organized crime investigation. Up to 450 tonnes of copper were stolen during a year, from the French Railways, France Telecom and EDF. The value of the stolen copper would have exceeded EUR 2 million, based on the metal's international quotation.
