Gabor Teleki is the general manager of the local operations of discounter Lidl, part of German group Lidl & Schwartz. The group has recently taken over the Plus Discount network, making a much awaited market entry, after being rumored for several years to start operations on the Romanian market. Teleki has been working with Lidl in Romania for around a year, after previously heading Lidl Romania between 2005 and 2006. Lidl entered the Romanian market in 2003 without opening any stores ever since. However, the discounter has been buying land plots across Romania in the last years. Before joining Lidl, Teleki was vice president of Deutsche Bank for over eight years.
