Gambling firms in Romania pay EUR 269 mln taxes
Gambling companies paid taxes of EUR 269 million last year, up by 71% compared to 2014, said Odeta Nestor, president of the National Office for Gambling (ONJN).
The gambling companies, without including the online gambling operators, paid some EUR 70 million for licenses and authorization only, reports local Agerpres.
In 2014, the Romanian state received EUR 157 million from gambling companies.
Romania had 488 operators last year, according to ONJN, down compared to 2014. The number of authorized online gambling companies was 19.
