Gamers unite in Romania this autumn, when DreamHack and e-Sports World Championship take place in Bucharest

Two events will bring the best online gamers of the world to Romania this fall. The country will host the International e-Sports World Championship this year, taking over from South Korea, which has been hosting the event for the last four years. The event, organized by the International eSport Federation together with the Professional Gamers League in Romania, will take place between October 31 and November 4 at Sala Polivalenta in Bucharest.

The large international event will bring 270 gamers from 46 countries to Bucharest. The men's competition will have two segments, League of Legends, which pledges USD 27,000 of awards, and Alliance of Variant Arms, with USD 18,000 awards. In the women's competition, there will also be two legs: StarCraft 2 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

The gaming event will be preceded by a DreamHack competition on September 14 and 15, also in Bucharest. Big names from the international gaming world will attend DreamHack in Romania, incouding the five-men team Team VeryGames. The event will include the 15.000 USD Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. Hosted anually since 2012, DreamHack Bucharest brings to Romania the best Counter-Strike, League of Legends and StarCraft II from around the world, in tournaments where fans can watch them in action on stage or even in the eSport area. In 2012, Romania ranked third in the e-Sports World Championship, with 73 points, after Korea, with 216, and Austria, with 105.

The Professional Gamers League in Romania has been organizing gaming events in the country since 2002, building on the ever growing popularity of gaming among the country's youth.
