Gang shooting in Popeşti-Leordeni, near Bucharest, left a man with serious chest injuries requiring emergency surgery. The 30 year old man was reportedly shot with an air gun and following the incident he was taken to Bagdasar-Arseni hospital by car. Police arrested two men at the scene in a car with broken windows, but their involvement, if any, is unclear at the moment. The two gangs allegedly involved in the shooting are called Camatarilor and Sportivilor.

Dr Florian Bica of the Bagdasar-Arseni hospital said the man was treated for shock and a pulmonary gunshot wound. A lobe of the victim's lung was reportedly removed during surgery. Dr Bica said the surgery was difficult and took nearly three hours, but that doctors are optimistic about the patient's chances.
