GDF Suez Romania changes name to Engie

French energy group GDF Suez changes its name to Engie in Romania, part of the international rebranding process announced in April this year.

In Romania, GDF Suez Romania will first change the name of its own products and services, and will later apply the rebranding process to all the group’s subsidiaries in Romania, such as Distrigaz Sud Retele, Distrigaz Confort, Braila Winds, and Alizeu Eolian.

Engie has almost 152,000 employees worldwide and posted a turnover of EUR 74.7 billion in 2014.

In Romania, GDF Suez Romania and its branches have 1.5 million customers and operate a network of 18,500 km of gas pipes. The group controls the gas distribution activities in the southern half of Romania. It also has investments in the renewable energy sector.
