GE to provide USD 120 mln maintenance works to Romanian nuke plant
Romanian state-owned electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, the operator of the country’s sole nuclear plant, has signed a framework agreement with General Electric Global Services GmbH / GE Global Parts & Products GmbH for the maintenance and repair of some parts of Unit 1 and 2 at Cernavoda worth almost USD 120 million, Ziarul Financiar reported.
The agreement has a duration of eight years. The object of the contract is the provision of comprehensive maintenance and repair services for the turbines, electric generators, valves, auxiliary systems from Units 1 and 2 of Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant.
Romania owns 82.5% in Nuclearelectrica, investment fund Fondul Proprietatea 9% and other shareholders 8.%.
