Generali Romania almost doubles net profit
Local insurer Generali Romania underwrote gross premiums of EUR 108.5 million last year, up by 5% compared to 2014. The company’s net profit rose from EUR 8.7 million to some EUR 15.2 million.
The car insurance sales accounted for half of the company’s turnover.
The general insurance segment, which represented 85% of the total business, rose by 7.7% year-on-year to some EUR 92.6 million.
The insurer is part of the Italian group Generali, one of the largest insurance groups in the world. The group had total revenues of EUR 74 billion in 2015.
