German car parts producer expands plant in Cluj-Napoca, Romania

German group Eckerle, a supplier of parts and components for the automotive industry, will expand the production capacity of its plant in Cluj-Napoca, north-western Romania, following a EUR 400,000 investment. This will create 100 new jobs.

The current production units cover some 5,600 sqm, and will be expanded by 700 sqm. The number of employees will also grow from 800 to 900.

The production unit’s main client is the German group Bosch. The Eckerle products are used to equip car brands such as Porsche, BMW, Audi, Nissan or Toyota.

Eckerle Automotive posted a turnover of EUR 33 million in 2013 and EUR 43 million in 2014.
