German premium appliance producer sees 56% higher sales in Romania
German group Miele, active on Romania’s premium appliance market since 2007, posted a turnover of EUR 5.5 million last year, up 56% compared to 2015.
The best-selling product categories were vacuum cleaners, with about 6,000 units, washing machines and dryers (2,000 units), and dishwashers.
“We have witnessed a significant increase last year in the local market of home appliances, with a focus on the premium segment,” said Loredana Butnaru, Miele Romania director.
The company’s largest investment in Romania last year was the opening of the Miele Point store in Bucharest. The budget for this project reached EUR 100,000.
Miele is now planning to expand its electronic components factory in Brasov. The investment is estimated at EUR 10 million, and will be carried out in the next two years.
