German shot dead in illegal hunting trip in Romania
A German citizen was shot dead by his Romanian hunting partner during an illegal hunting trip in Romania, on Sunday night. The Romanian authorities held the suspect on charges of involuntary manslaughter.
The incident occurred near the village Neudorf in Arad county, western Romania. The two men, a 49-year old German and a 47-year old Romanian, were engaged in illegal hunting when the Romanian accidentally shot the German in the chest, according to Mediafax.
The emergency intervention team that came on site couldn’t save the man.
Both men had licenses for their weapons, but the hunting trip was not authorized.
The German citizen was living in Romania, in the village of Zabrani, some 20 kilometers away from Arad. He had a foundation that helped underprivileged children, according to Digi 24.
