Romanian seasonal workers, specialists and interns will no longer need work permits to work in Germany from 2012, the Bundestag decided. Also, university graduates will not need permits if they search for work in their field in Germany.

Companies taking on Romanian workers will not be obliged to prove that they have tried to full positions from within Germany, or other EU states where restrictions don't apply, before hiring from Romania.

Germany is among the last of the  EU 10 states to restrict access for Romanian and Bulgarian workers. According to EU legislation, current restrictions cannot continue in any EU member states beyond the end of 2013.
