Get ready to get scared: Halloween parties in Romania

Romania might be considered one of the best Halloween destinations, mainly due to its connection with the famous Dracula.

If you happen to be in Romania at the end of October and you want to celebrate Halloween, we’ve made a list of special themed parties in Bucharest and other cities. All you have to do is choose a party, put on your costume, and have fun.

  • Romania’s best Halloween destination must be Bran Castle (also known as Dracula’s Castle). Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) himself will be the host of this year’s Halloween party at the castle (according to the organizers), guiding the tourists and choosing the best costumes.   • Another special Halloween event will be organized in Transylvania’s Hoia Baciu Forest this year, one of the freakiest places on earth (according to a ranking made by Movie Pilot). The event takes place on October 31 and on November 1, and includes childhood games, a Halloween costume contest, and horror movie screenings.   • The dinosaur park in Rasnov will also organize special Halloween events on October 31. Dino Parc will stay open between 10:00 and 24:00 on this day, the program including movie screenings and night walks among dinosaurs. More about the event here.
  • Another special event, called Running from the Undead (Fuga de Strigoi), will take place in Mogosoaia Park near Bucharest. The event will take place on October 31. More information here.
  • Constanta seaside resort will host another kind of Halloween event on October 31. Sanasport Constanta Sports Association will organize the HelloWeRun cross on Saturday, starting 17:00, the first costumed running event in the city. Read more about it here.
  • Halloween Masquerade Ball is another themed event, organized in Bucharest. Organized at the Press House Ballroom on October 30, the event features a DJ, opera, gold disco, jazz music, and dance performances. Find more here.
  • TY Event Hall hosts the Horrors’ Ball (Balul Ororilor) on October 31, starting 22:00. An entry ticket costs RON 20, but those who wear costumes can enter for free. Romanian band Vita de Vie will play during the event. Find out more here.
  • BankersNightOut organizes a Halloween party at Fratelli in Bucharest, called Halloween Circus, dedicated to employees in the financial-banking sector. Tickets cost RON 25 and all participants should wear costumes. More information here.
  • Bucharest’s Hard Rock Cafe organizes a Halloween party on October 31, with Romanian band Jukebox being in charge with the music. The party starts at 22:30 and tickets cost RON 25 and RON 30. Find out more here.
  • Beraria H organizes Halloween with Ozzy, a party that starts with an Ozzy Osbourne Tribute concert, on October 30.
  • If you are a fan of electronic music, then you might want to put on your costume and go to Hallobear. The event’s lineup includes various DJs such as Scarlett Etienne, Rosario Internullo, MoonSound, and OK Coral. Tickets cost RON 25 if purchased in advance. More information here.
  • Electronic music fans can also spend the Halloween at Techno HALLoween party at Halele Carol in Bucharest. Julian Jeweil, Joran van Pol, Rob Hes, Mirror States and Cosmin Horatiu are the artists who make the event’s lineup. Find more information here.
  • Fabrica Club in Bucharest will also host a special Halloween party on October 31. The lineup includes Chaos Cult, Diamonds are Forever, Breathelast, and Negative Core. More information to appear soon here.
  • Spice Club in Bucharest also hosts a special party and a costume contest on October 30, while Trattoria Vivaldi in Bucharest organizes Casper is Coming to Town party on October 31, 18:00.
  • Children aged between 8 and 14 can celebrate the Halloween in a creative way at the Antipa Museum in Bucharest, as the museum will organize pumpkin carving workshops on October 30 and October 31.
  • Promenada Mall in Bucharest also hosts the Halloween edition of the Sweet Fest. The event takes place between October 26 and November 1.
  • Bucuresti Mall will organize a "scary weekend" on October 31 and November 1.
