GfK: Romania's economy goes up, but consumers still skeptical
Romania’s economy is thriving, the GDP rose by 6% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, however, consumers are skeptical and do not exclude the possibility of an economic downturn in the coming months, according to a survey by GfK.
“The economic expectations dropped by 3 points in June, reaching 1.2 points in September. One year before, the indicator stood at 18.5 points,” the survey reads.
The expectations about the revenue amounted to 20.8 points in September, up 2.3 points compared to June.
According to GfK, the Romanian consumers’ attitude slowly improves as an effect of economic recovery. The purchase intention increased by 2 points compared to June, reaching -1 point in September.
