Gipsy Kings, a band with Catalan origins, was founded in 1987. At the beginning it had a slightly different lineup than their actual one. The band was formed through the merger of two smaller bands, each one of them having members that were also brothers. Initially, Reyes and Baliardo families performed at weddings and different kinds of parties, sharing the rhythms of flamenco music. After a while, the two families decided to unite and formed the group now known as The Gipsy Kings.
