Give a little Romanian crime literature for Christmas, English translations on offer

20 December 2012

Romanian noir literature might not be everyone's cup of tea, but publisher Profusion Books is offering a Christmas special on English translations of three Romanian crime thrillers and a non-fiction account of the serial killer Ion Rimaru, known as the Bucharest Butcher.

The three thrillers – Attack in the Library by George Arion, Bogdan Hrib's Kill the General and Anatomical Clues by Oana Stoica-Mujea – are all set in Romania and offer interesting insights into the country from before and after the overthrow of Communist tyrant Nicolae Ceausescu.
