Gold coins, popular among Romanians: BCR sells 160 kg of gold this year
Romanian lender Banca Comerciala Romana BCR, member of Erste Group, sold over 160 kg of gold this year, both via pre-orders, and retail sales at the bank’s offices.
“Most of the gold sales come from direct sales at the bank’s offices, and coins were the most popular. BCR has recently started to sell new gold coins from the “investment gold” category – Krugerrand (South Africa) and Ducat (Austria), of which we’ve already sold tens of coins of different weights,” said Laura Hexan, head of the Retail Treasury Products Department within BCR.
The coins purchased by BCR clients are especially used as gifts for various events, such as weddings and anniversaries. Among ingots, the most popular is Kinegram, available in weights of 5 and 10 grams.
The service of gold sale at the bank’s office is currently available at 15 of the lender’s units across the country, in Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Arad, Craiova, Botosani, Sibiu, Timisoara, Constanta, Oradea and Bucharest.
