Google launches Romanian office led by former Microsoft manager
Google will open an official office in Romania this month, led by Dan Bulucea (in picture), previously business and marketing director with Microsoft. The new office will deal with implementing Google's strategy in the country, establishing business partnerships with local companies, communications and advertising sales. The activity on the Romanian market used to be managed through Google's office in Ireland.
The US company has already launched products and advertising services for Romanian consumers, but without having an official office in the country. It has launched the Google.ro search engine, Google maps, Google Apps, Google Translate, AdWords and AdSense, among others.
Bulucea had worked for the last 12 years with Microsoft in Romania but left the company in spring this year. More about Dan Bulucea in his LinkedIn profile here.
Google's corporate headquarters, nicknamed the Googleplex, located in Mountain View, California, is known for the use of creativity in serving the needs of Google employees: Bicycles or scooters for efficient travel between meetings; dogs; lava lamps; massage chairs; large inflatable balls, Googlers sharing cubes, yurts and huddle rooms and very few solo offices. This style was usually kept in Google's other offices in the world (in picture, an atrium in Google's offices in Dublin). More about the Google culture here.
