Government to install network of touch screen devices to inform Romanian workers in several EU countries

05 May 2014

Romania aims to inform its citizens who work abroad via 22 touch screen devices installed in eight European countries which host large communities of Romanians. These infokiosks will be installed in Spain, Italy, UK, Germany, Greece, France, Ireland and Cyprus.

The project is carried out by the Labor Ministry in Romania, and co-financed by the European Social Fund. It is worth some RON 4.7 million – or some EUR 1 million.

The ministry aims to inform Romanian citizens about their rights and obligations in the host countries, as well as about the opportunities offered in Romania, in case they choose to return.

Romania has around 2.5 million workers abroad, according to statistics.
