Govt. says Ploiesti-Brasov highway should be completed in 2023
Romania’s Government approved on Wednesday, August 29, the substantiation study for the highway segment connecting the cities of Ploiesti and Brasov.
The authorities plan to start the dialogue with investors on this project in September and to sign the execution contract by the end of this year. The construction of the highway should thus start in 2019 and the completion period is four years, with the estimated costs amounting to EUR 1.36 billion, prime minister Viorica Dancila said, according to local News.ro.
The state is willing to pay a bonus to the private partner if the highway is completed before schedule but the contractors will also have to pay penalties if the project is delayed.
The highway will be built in public-private partnership and the private partner will be able to operate it for a period of 20 years, the PM added.
Govt. will start new negotiations for Ploiesti-Brasov highway in August
