The Romanian Government has recently established the Agency for the Administration of Seized Goods, within the Ministry of Justice, according to a Ministry statement.

The new structure will become operational by the end of March 2015 and will have 30 employees.

Its role is to manage the assets seized in criminal proceedings, an activity which is currently carried out by several institutions. The new structure will decide together with the Romanian Tax Administration (ANAF) how to capitalize on these goods.
